• Central Virginia Electric Co-Op: 800-367-2832. This cooperative electric company serves certain rural areas of Albemarle County including Keswick and Free Union. Requests for new service should be placed well in advance of move-in date.

• Rappahannock Electric Co-Op: 540-825-8373. This cooperative electric company serves certain rural areas of Northern Albemarle County and Greene County. Requests for new service should be placed well in advance of move-in date.

• Allegheny Power: 800-255-3443. Certain portions of counties, which are north of Albemarle County, are included in this company's service area. Requests for new service should be placed well in advance of move-in date.

City of Charlottesville Gas, Water/Sewer & Trash

• City of Charlottesville: 434-970-3211. (8:00a-4:30p) Public gas, water & sewer service is provided by the Utilities Division located at City Hall, corner of Seventh & E. Main Streets at the top of the Downtown Mall. Customers can also use the web to connect or disconnect service, apply for the budget plan, and obtain other information. The web address is www.charlottesville.org/utility. The service area includes the city and some surrounding areas of the county. Requests for new service can be made by phone, at the website or in person at City Hall. Requests for new service should be placed well in advance of move-in date.

• For Gas: A connection fee will be charged to all meters. A deposit is required for first time gas customers. Contact the City of Charlottesville about specific consumption rates or visit www.charlottesville.org/utility. Gas Leak and Emergencies: 434-293-9164.

• For Water and Sewer: A connection fee will be charged to all meters and a deposit will be required.

• The Albemarle County Service Authority: 434-977-4511. The Administration and Operations Center is located at 168 Spotnap Road at Pantops in Charlottesville. The service area includes Crozet, Scottsville and the area of Albemarle surrounding the city. To apply for service, visit the Operations Center or call them. To establish a new account for service contact the Albemarle County Service Authority or visit http://www.acsanet.com. Requests for new service should be placed well in advance of move-in date.
